Topic: import several .sdf files Posted: 20 Apr 2010 at 20:47 |
Hi,
I have a T6 (and not a T6c/d) and I loaded all my data (400 files) on a first old PC. I am trying to transfer these data on a brand new PC, using training manager 2.2.0 available on suunto web site. I first exported the files to a USB storage: these files are .sdf. I manage to import these files one by one, but I do not manage to import all these files simultaneously. Could someone suggest me a solution? I won't import 400 files one by one! thanks!

I'm not in a position to test this right at the moment or provide more specific path/file names, but I seem to remember the last time I did this by:
- Copy the /Data folder and all its contents to your new computer - This should copy the .mdb file and all the associated log files at once
Open up the new version of STraM and everything is as it was before. No need to have individual .sdf backup files for this procedure. I would guess the version of STraM needs to be the same on both machines.

Hi again - I've just downloaded tested this on the latest version of STraM and it works fine. All data, logs and settings were fine.
If you don't have a copy of your /data folder then you won't be able to do this. Backing up your /data folder is the quickest, most complete way of safeguarding your data files.
Exporting individual log files as .sdf files is only really needed if you are going to import them back into FBA or another 3rd party application that supports the data type.

Hi,
Ok, so I just have to copy the "Data" files contents on my new PC and it should be good. I will try this aa soon as possible. I was sure we had to import and export, but the simpler is the best!
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I finally installed the same training manager release (1.01) that I had on my old PC. It works fine and above all allows T6 connection whereas it results impossible with release 2.2.0, release available on suunto web site. But I still do not manage to import all my data simultenaously: I copied all .ibi files I had under /suunto training manager/Data on my old PC to the the path under my new PC. It results that no data are available after lauching training manager, whereas the data directory contains 400 .ibi files. Did I understand well what you did suggest me to do?
Thanks!

Hi - I'm sorry I can't answer that one as I'm not at all familiar with STraM v1.01 and it may have a completely different file/data format from the newer versions.
v2.2.0 should work okay with a T6. What kind of problems are you getting when trying to use that?

Hi,
First, release 1.0.1 generates .ibi files as I said. Is it different for release 2.2.0?
With the release 2.2.0, it remains impossible to connect T6. Then, I installed release 1.0.1, and I managed to connect it.
So, I think it will be really difficult for me to import these data!
