I've been wetting the heck out of it and I guess I'll try the hair gel. It does seem to kick in or work better once I've been training for about 10-15 minutes and my heart is really pumping then when I slow down it loses contact again.

I was advised that it would work the same as XP providing i do the update after installation. That should have brought it up to speed was the advice. Bloody frustrating as i am yet to get any data out of my watch.

Thanks for your feedback.

It works both with Parallels 5 and VMware 3 running Windows XP. No problem.

Which version of Windows did you install? I'm not sure if Suunto Training Manager compatible with Win7?

Regards,
Erik.

Only uses APPLE Mac
Posted: 09 Mar 2010 at 06:01

Hi, i purchased VMware for my Mac and purchased Windows. Sad to say that it still doesn't work and all the team at Mac1 (apple dealer) could not get it to work. Suunto responded to my request for help and said; "SUUNTO does not run on Mac or on a Mac running windows". Can you believe a running watch of this calibre cannot run on an every day system such as Mac? Put simply..... don't by SUUNTO.

I am in the process of arguing with the dealer on it's lack of information relating to the major Mac issues and attempting to get a refund. I spent over A$400 trying to get it to run with no luck.

I have been advised to try BootCamp, but fear it's all too hard and would prefer to start over with another brand of running watch.

Any feedback on other brands is appreciated people!

I am exclusively on a Mac and the lack of support concerns and frustrates me too! I just started using Training Peaks, which works fine on a Mac. The T6c is compatible with TP, so I'm hoping I can import the info into TP and get most of my data that way.

Last resort would be to put Parallels or similar on my machine and use Windows. but ick, that is really not pmy preference.

The 405 is probably not good since it lasts only 6-8 hours, 310xt has 15+ hours of recording with GPS on.

If you are OK to install Windows on your Mac in virtual environment you can look at Polar RS800cx as alternative.

Garmin does not record R-R so you will not get the EPOC/TE from your log, but you can determine it from average HR, but that is not as accurate as the beat-by-beat recording T6c or RS800cx offer.
Perhaps new versions of each have been released (like the 405cx), or if Polar's new 8000 is a big player.

I am primarily a trail runner, although I do some road/mtn cycling as well. On my wish list for a watch is: HRM, pace, distance, elevation gain, being able to see my routes on a map after. I am on a Mac OSX and have recently started using TrainingPeaks.

Thanks!
